For my university project, I'm researching kinship structures in a suburban neighborhood using participant observation and interviews. I've collected qualitative data, but I want to incorporate digital tools like social media analysis or GIS mapping to enhance the study. However, I'm worried about privacy issues and data accuracy. I've tried basic software, but it feels disjointed from my fieldwork notes. How can I seamlessly combine these approaches while staying ethical?
